Undefined

Stampin' Up! have a kit for carving your own stamps . (see my previous post) called "Undefined".

Jacque's demonstrator team werre each given a mini kit by our lovely NZ manager, Emma to have a go with. Two months on, I have finally been brave enough to try it. It was really much easier to carve the rubber than I thought (as in, the rubber was quite soft) and I guess as it is with anything, practice makes perfect but I don't think my first attempt was too bad.
I used a photo of my two boys sitting side by side looking out the front door for my inspiration. I used a bit of "poetic licence" when it came to the intertwined tails though. LOL

Gratitude Journal

Hi everybody,
I have been dying to share my latest project with you all as I am very happy with it.

I spend quite some time researching ideas and planning and designing a Gratitude Journal. One that is small enough to keep with you at all times so that when those specfial moments occur that you are grateful for, you can enter them in your journal right there and then.

The idea of a Gratitude Journal is that you write down ( or paste a picture or memorabilia) things that you are grateful for, such as friendships, great job, family, etc and then on those "blah" days when you think nothing is going right, you can get out your book and "count your blessings".

I have used some scrapbooking ideas and some similar ideas to those used in Stampin' Up!'s This'n'That journal etc. The journal is one that evolves over time.

Since attending my GJ class at least two of my customers have prepared several other pages as ideas have sprung from the ones I taught. It is so exciting to be the springboard for something that keeps on giving!

Anyway you'll be wanting to see it:

This is the cover, brushed gold cardstock embossed in Gold. The background stamp is "Off the Grid". The numbers for the date I lined up on a clear mount H block so that they could be stamped all together. I found that the Watercolour Wonger Designer Washi tape (also from the ocassions mini) changed colour hue according to the colour of the cardstock it was adhered to. So you will see the "ribbons" on the cover look like they were made with 3 different Washi tapes but in reality it was only 2.

I will show you a couple of pages now and some more pages over the next few days:)

One page lined with the new Watercolour Wonder DSP and adhered to the preceding page (corner folded down) and handmade marbled button (from Simply Pressed Clay).

My customers really loved the new rotary "Make Note" stamp from the new occasions mini. I used it on several pages and on this page the row of hearts was stamped using it. The rotary stamps are so versatile and great for this kind of project. They are also very reasonably priced at $11.95 with 12 separate images on the roller.

This page was pretty much straight from p 6 of the Occasions mini, using the gorgeous gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.

Another gold accented card

Another gold accented card I have recently taught.

This would have to be one of my all time favourite cards. Thanks to Karen Gilbert for the idea. I used the stamp set and dies from Secret garden and a different edgelit but its pretty much CASEd.

Have you noticed my photography has got better? I have a new camera and a light box now. What a difference they both make.

Gold Accented cards

I just love all the gold and silver stuff Stampin' Up! have been producing!! I have a preference for the gold though and I'm just loving the fancy Foil Vellums, Foil card, gold Watercolour Wonder Washi Tape, metalic inks etc. Many of them have just been released in the new "Occasions" mini catalogue. (browse the mini catalogue by clicking the link on the right side of my blog).

These are a couple of the gold accented cards I have taught at recent classes, inspired by Amy K; I have used the gold Watercolour Wonder Washi tape in strips behind the main sentiment.

This one uses the stamp set "Another Great Year" from the Ocassions Mini.

If you would like supplies to recreate something similar, just order online by clicking the "Shop Now" button on the right side of my blog or email me your order:)

Spiral Flower Die

I made some flowers using the Spiral Flower die from the latest mini (Occasions) catalogue (pg 32) and was thinking of different ways I could use them. I was invited (or rather I invited myself, he he) out to afternoon at a friend's and made some GF friands, put them ona glass plate and thought... hey. I could use those die cut spiral flowers to make a centrepiece. And here's how they looked.
The two-tone flower was made by cutting one Rose Red flower and one Whisper White flower, layering one on top of the other and them twisting them together. The leaves were die cut from the Secret Garden Framelits (pg 187 main cattie).

Look at them now

My boys are growing up (17 months) and though I am somewhat biased, I have to say they really are beautiful. Do you agree?
