Salted background technique

All you need is SU (300gsm) watercolour paper, course salt and reinker. Wet the Watercolour paper with a spritzer or Aqua pen, drop a few drops of reinker onto the wet paper, spread the ink roughly over the paper, then sprinkle corse salt on top. Dry with heat gun, wipe off the salt and Voila!
